Sarah Jane Lucy Mary Van den Bergh and Christian Casey Sahner were married Sept. 28. The Rev. Edward Van den Bergh, a Roman Catholic priest and a brother of the bride, performed the ceremony at the Oxford Oratory in Oxford, England.
Next month, Mrs. Sahner, who is 31 and a lawyer specializing in charities law, will join the Oxford office of the law firm Winckworth Sherwood. She graduated with first class honors from the University of Edinburgh, and received a graduate diploma in law from BPP University Law School, London.
She is a daughter of Marion Van den Bergh and John Van den Bergh of Oxford.
Mr. Sahner, 34, is an associate professor of Islamic history at the University of Oxford. He graduated summa cum laude from Princeton, from which he also received a Ph.D. in history. He was also a Rhodes scholar at Oxford, where he received a master’s degree in Arabic and Byzantine studies.
He is a son of Brigid Casey and Ronald Sahner of Maplewood, N.J.
The couple met in London in November 2017, having been introduced by a sister of the bride.
