Mary Eleanor Teresa Davis and Fawzy Abu Seif were married Nov. 23 at the Convent of the Sacred Heart in New York. The imam Dr. Ahmet Atlig officiated, with Msgr. Kenneth Lasch leading a reflection and prayer during an interfaith ceremony.
Ms. Davis, 32, who is known as Mariel, works in the Cairo and New York offices of Education for Employment, a youth employment organization in the Middle East and North Africa, where she leads communications. She graduated magna cum laude from Columbia and received a master’s degree in global management from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
She is a daughter of Kathryn F. Davis of Mendham, N.J., and the late Dr. Sanders W. Davis.
Mr. Abu Seif, 38, is the founder of Spokn, an audio learning and development company based in New York. He graduated from Modern Science and Arts University in Cairo.
He is the son of Eman Rashad and Dr. Kamal Abu Seif of Cairo.
The couple met in November 2017 on the dance floor at a club in Cairo.
