The Christmas market in Strasbourg, in eastern France, has been going strong since 1570. Later this week it will be setting up a replica in New York for the first time, in Bowling Green. Some 30 wooden chalets have been shipped to New York and will be reassembled, containing boutiques for traditional crafts, Christmas ornaments, beers and wines, and foods like choucroute, quiches, soup, chestnuts and more. Activities for children and a choir will enliven the festivities.
