Aaron Kurosu and Gregory Frank Henselman were married Sept. 28 in a self-uniting outdoor ceremony at Gunnison Point Overlook, which is at the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park in Colorado.
Mr. Kurosu (left), 30, is a Ph.D. candidate in experimental psychology at Princeton. His research examines the interface of sensation, perception and industrial design. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Cincinnati.
He is a son of Yunhee Kurosu and Craig S. Kurosu, both of Honolulu. His mother is the owner of Top of the Hill, a bar in Kaimuki, Hawaii. His father is a sales representative for Zep, a company in Honolulu that produces and distributes maintenance and cleaning solutions for the food and beverage industries, among others.
Mr. Henselman, 33, is a Swartz fellow and associate research scholar at Princeton. His work applies computational geometry to brain image analysis. He graduated from Willamette University in Salem, Ore, and received a Ph.D. in electrical and systems engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. He also received a master’s degree in mathematics from the University of Oregon.
He is the son of Linda N. Sparks and the stepson of John N. Sparks III of Salem, Ore. His mother retired as a special-education teacher at Jackson Elementary School in Hillsboro, Ore. His stepfather retired as an administrator at Salem Laser and Surgery Center, in Salem.
The couple met in October 2016 in a photo booth during a graduate student function at Princeton.
