Yana Ankudinova and Igor Borodyansky were married July 9 at Conservatory Garden in Central Park. Tyler M. McDonald, ordained by American Marriage Ministries and a friend of the couple, officiated, incorporating Jewish traditions.
The couple met at Columbia, from which each graduated.
Mrs. Borodyansky, 29, is a senior product manager in Manhattan at Truveris, a health care technology company that provides ways for employers to reduce pharmaceutical costs.
She is the daughter of Olga Ankudinova of Manhattan and Sergey Ankudinov of Achinsk, Russia.
Mr. Borodyansky, 31, is a health care investment banker in the Manhattan office of Jefferies Group.
He is the son of Helena Borodyansky of Kirkwood, Mo., and Vadim Borodyansky of Great Kills, Staten Island.
The couple met in passing in 2013 when Mr. Borodyansky gave Ms. Ankudinova directions to her classroom in a hallway at Columbia. During the spring semester in 2014, they got to know each other better when they sat next to each other in a genetics class, and started studying together. She soon inspired him to write a poem about her. They began dating a couple of weeks later.
