Museums rolled out the red carpet for celebrities last week. The Los Angeles County Museum of Art held its Art+Film gala on Nov. 5. Now in its 11th year, the gala has become a high-wattage gathering of Hollywood and art world insiders, including Billie Eilish, Kim Kardashian and Leonardo DiCaprio. Many were dressed by Gucci, the night’s presenter.
The Guggenheim International Gala took place on Wednesday at the museum’s Fifth Avenue landmark, with a private viewing of the Alex Katz exhibition followed by a black-tie dinner. Dior was honored for sponsoring its 10th and final gala.
And the New York Public Library held its Library Lions Gala on Monday to support the library’s 92 neighborhood locations. Laurie Anderson and Mary Beard were among the night’s honorees, and gave the city’s literati a reason to get dressed up.
