Good morning to everyone but especially Victoria Beckham, who has lured ELLE.com to a unicorn chandelier before noon. We’re at Anabel’s, the London social club (read: party place for royals and rich kids), and though there’s much to look at—a wall covered in majolica pansies, a gilded bar with gleaming crystal cocktails—all eyes fix firmly on Mrs. Beckham. Obviously.

The pop-star-turned-fashion-phenom just showed her 10thanniversary collection in London, but two days later it’s back to business with a showcase of her diffusion line. “It’s quite fun, but still very pretty,” Beckham says. “You shouldn’t have to choose.”
For more on that—plus Halloween inspiration and a DIY skincare recipe (really!), read on.
This Victoria, Victoria Beckham collection has jeans with stars on the butt. They are insane. Please walk ELLE.com through your headspace on them…
I follow an Instagram Account called Seventies Babes. I saw an image of a pair of ‘70s denim with a star on the behind, and you know, I did stars years ago on the back of my jeans. People really, really liked them. So when I saw that image, I thought “We should play with this; see where it goes.” Then I realized if you put a star on your bottom, what it actually does is it lifts your bum. It gives the illusion of a really nice, round, peachy bottom! Who doesn’t want that? And I like how it balances out with the wider leg.

You’ve paired it with a matching top. Are you a denim-on-denim fan?
Sure. These jeans have a [denim] gilet, so it’s something of a full look, without being a formal suit or twin set. And that’s becoming something of a code for me—can we make a full look easier for our women so they don’t have to really think about it? Can we make sure everything looks great together, but doesn’t seem forced? That’s a big thing.
You are the master of looking like a grown-up, but still looking cool. What advice can you give for those of us—like me—who worry we’ll never master a sophisticated style?
Oh, I think you’ve got to stop worrying. The fact is, you’re going to grow up. We all do. So stop scrutinizing your clothes, because just as you change, of course your style changes. Mine has! And there’s this misconception that you can’t look chic and fun at the same time, which of course isn’t true. The reason we have VVB is because it’s the other part of my wardrobe. It’s not just about being very sexy or very structured all the time. You can be fun and still have flattering clothes in great shapes and prints. So don’t worry about it. Fashion is supposed to be fun. I mean, I made a t-shirt!
This one just says SMILE in cool ‘70s letters…
And the last one says, “fashion stole my smile.” But honestly, I think [the fashion show] this week has proven that fashion did not steal my smile. This week, and the campaign we just shot with Juergen Teller.
If I turn that campaign into a Halloween costume—just a giant VB shopping bag, high heels, giant shades, and a leotard—can I have your blessing?
I haven’t even thought about that! Do it! Get the heels and poke holes in the bag so you can see, of course, and go for it! Yes, I approve. And you know, so many people have been taking pictures of themselves in those bags and tagging me. It has entertained me all week. Please keep them coming. They are amazing.
You’ve been on duty all week with your fashion show, personal appearances, parties, and now the Victoria, Victoria Beckham presentation. How do you get rid of puffy eyes?
I don’t, I just wear sunglasses. [Laughing.] Or funnily enough, you know, cucumbers on your eyes do actually work. Get cold cucumber slices. It’s quite old school, but it’s good. If you don’t have time in the morning to do it, then just big sunglasses. Oh, but do you know the other thing you should do? You can make your own face mask.
How?
I learned this in LA: you mix manuka honey with organic oatmeal and egg white. Mix it all together and put it on your face for a few minutes, and it’s amazing. But it’s got to be manuka honey, not regular honey. And it’s got to be organic oatmeal.
