Ms. Santi D’Andrea, 45, is a freelance events producer in Chicago. She graduated from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. She is a daughter of Mary I. Santi and Mark A. Santi of Naples, Fla.
Mr. D’Andrea, 45, is the vice president for the North American pipelines division of BP, the British oil company; his office is in Chicago. He graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He is a son of Paolina D’Andrea and Vincenzo B. D’Andrea of Norridge, Ill.

The couple met in 2015, when Ms. Santi was sent by the events company she then worked for to help Mr. D’Andrea organize a leadership conference. Two years later, when he was planning another event, the company again dispatched Ms. Santi to help. “We hit it off at that point, and I was going to miss not talking to her after that event, so I asked her out,” he said. They had their first date in 2017, in Chicago.
