This season, the Milan shows delivered drama in spades, even with Gucci off the schedule (the Italian house will unveil its spring collection in Paris). Versace’s presentation of barely-there miniskirts and oversize blazers in traffic-stopping colors opened with a bang: The first model down the runway was the ’90s super Shalom Harlow. Etro took a softer — but no less arresting — approach, with a display of beautifully layered knits high on texture and a hint of shimmer. At Prada, models clad in bug-eyed sunglasses and sculptural headbands sported pleated skirts with tie-dyed prints that were equal parts far-out and fetching.
