Highlights from the spring 2019 shows, including Riccardo Tisci’s Burberry debut.
There was a palpable charge in the air at London Fashion Week, where the shows paid homage to both tradition and feverish self-expression. The models for Erdem looked like exuberant mourners, in their black veils and high-necked dresses of all colors. In his debut for Burberry, Riccardo Tisci showcased the company’s trademark trenches with corsets and gussied up beige raincoats with splendid jewels and feathers. Meanwhile, Molly Goddard presented riots of ruffles and flouncy frocks — a spectacle of over-the-top femininity with a revolutionary edge. Here, we round up the highlights from the spring 2019 shows, as captured by T’s photographers.
