Timothy Joseph McDevitt and Cameron Thomas Bartell were married Nov. 16 at the Stirling Mansion in Reading, Pa. Anita Vasan, a friend of the couple who became a Universal Life minister for the event, officiated.
Mr. McDevitt (left), 33, is a classically trained baritone who is based in New York. He graduated from Juilliard, where he received both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in music. In May, he performed during a one-month run of Kurt Weill’s opera “Street Scene” at Oper der Stadt Koeln in Cologne, Germany. The following month, he performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra in Bernstein’s Candide, alongside the actor Bradley Cooper, who was a narrator in the production.
He is a son of Sandra J. McDevitt and Patrick J. McDevitt of Mount Penn, Pa. His father, who works in Collegeville, Pa., is a pharmaceutical research scientist for GlaxoSmithKline. His mother retired as a nurse in the health services division of the Highlands at Wyomissing, a retirement community in Reading.
Mr. Bartel, 29, is a New York-based actor who most recently appeared in “We Are the Tigers,” an Off Broadway production. He graduated from the University of Alabama with degree in musical theater.
He is a son of Gail M. Bartell and Timothy R. Bartell of Altamonte Springs, Fla. His father is the director of scenic division for JK2 Construction in Orlando, Fla., leading the construction at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios and at other surrounding properties. His mother retired as a drama teacher at the Orangewood Christian School in Maitland, Fla.
The couple met in Cincinnati in August 2015 during a production of “The Secret Garden” at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park.
