Dr. Theresa Wen Wen Guo and Joon Suh were married May 11 at the Hyatt Regency Cleveland at the Arcade, a hotel in Cleveland. The Rev. Che Kim, a Presbyterian minister, officiated.
Dr. Guo, 33, is completing her otolaryngology residency training at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. In July, she is to continue her training in treatment of head and neck cancer at the M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. She graduated from M.I.T. and received a medical degree from the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine.
She is a daughter of Dr. Shu-Jane Shen and Ten-Huei Guo of Lagrange, Ohio. The bride’s father, who is retired, was an engineer at NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland. Her mother is a radiologist at the Cleveland Clinic, a medical center in Cleveland.
Mr. Suh, 37, works in Washington as the chief of staff to Representative Lucy McBath, Democrat of Georgia. He previously served as a polling consultant for several political campaigns, including the 2008 presidential campaign of Barack Obama. He graduated from the University of Illinois and received an M.B.A. and a master’s degree in public policy from Auburn University.
He is the son of Suhyun P. Suh and Jingyo Suh of Auburn, Ala. His mother, who is retired, was a professor of counseling psychology at Auburn. His father is a professor of economics at Tuskegee University.
The couple met in 2016 through the online dating app Coffee Meets Bagel.
