After 40 years of London Fashion Weeks, designers across the pond know what they’re doing. But if there’s one thing Brits are great at, it’s is honoring the past while looking toward the future. For the spring/summer 2025 season, the volume was turned up on quintessential English staples like trench coats and mod minis, boosted by jewels, fringe, and bold silhouettes.
Read on for the best trends taking place during London Fashion Week.
Mini Such Cases
No better place for a mini-dress renaissance than the birthplace of Twiggy and the Mod movement. The highest of hems met bold patterns & heavy embellishments, packing lots of punch into these itty-bitty dresses.
Hips Dont Lie
From tutus to peplums to panniers, hips were the main attraction on this season’s runways. Whether historic like Harris Reed or futuristic like JW Anderson, it’s all about silhouette this season.
Shine On
Designers didn’t hold back on the bling this season. Heavy embellishments met shimmering fabrics for full-on shine.
Fringe For All
Bold, fun, and novel, fringe took over the runways; be it a beaded detail on a structured coat or head-to-toe fluff on a maxi dress.
The Body-Skimming Dress
With nods towards the 1920s and ’30s, the slinky sheer dress took on a not-so-demure persona in the form of body-skimming (often sans slip) iterations.
Deconstructed and Distressed
Forget posh and proper, London designers aren’t afraid to get down and dirty. Deconstructing garments and leaning into exploratory techniques to achieve textured, twisted, and utterly cool results.
Taking On The Trench
The ever-so-British wardrobe staple was anything but standard on this spring’s runways. Playing with proportions, materials, fit, and styling, these trenches go to show there’s never an excuse for basics to be boring.
Well Suited
The spirit of Savile Row was present in many collections, including the likes of those more usually known for feminine flair (think Erdem and Simone Rocha). Sharp tailoring in head-to-toe styling, tie and all, inspires a full look approach to suiting up.
