Tarini Parti and Charles Ryan Barber were married June 15 at the Raleigh Marriott Crabtree Valley, a hotel in Raleigh, N.C. Lalitha Achutuni, a Hindu priest, officiated.
The bride and groom graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they met while working on the school newspaper, The Daily Tar Heel.
Ms. Parti, 28, is a national politics reporter at The Wall Street Journal in Washington.
She is a daughter of Preeti Parti and Deepak Parti of Cary, N.C. The bride’s father is a certified public accountant for Darji, Iyer, Joshi & Patel in Cary. Her mother teaches English as a second language at Apex High School, also in Cary.
Mr. Barber, 29, who is known as Ryan, is a white-collar enforcement and legal affairs reporter at The National Law Journal in Washington.
His is a son of Denise R. Barber and Charles M. Barber of Kingston, Pa. The groom’s mother is the associate director of college guidance at Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory School in Kingston. His father is the president and chief executive of the Luzerne Foundation, a community nonprofit organization in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
