Stephanie Jill Desmon and Stephen Lyon Orloff were married May 4 at Artifact Coffee, a coffeehouse in Baltimore. Rabbi Andrew J. Busch officiated.
Ms. Desmon, 46, is the director for public relations and marketing at the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs, a part of the university’s public health school, in Baltimore. She graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania.
She is the daughter of Janet Rashkin Desmon and David H. Desmon of Williamsville, N.Y. The bride’s father is a wealth management adviser in the Williamsville office of Merrill Lynch. Her mother was a stay-at-home parent. Both of her parents are past presidents of the Buffalo Jewish Federation.
Mr. Orloff, 55, is the vice president for project management and business development at the Stroud Group, a hospitality procurement business in Columbia, Md., that is owned by his family. He graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
He is a son of Claire Freed Orloff and Harold Orloff of Columbia. His mother is the chief financial officer at the Stroud Group and his father retired as the president of Stroud Purchasing, which was a predecessor company, in Scotrun, Pa., of the Stroud Group.
The bride’s previous marriage ended in divorce, as did the groom’s.
The couple met in 2016 through OkCupid, the dating website.
