Sophie Alexandra Palitz and Dr. Jacob Dillon Buinewicz are to be married Sept. 22 at the Lake House Inn in Perkasie, Pa. Rabbi Edward S. Boraz is to officiate.
Mrs. Buinewicz, 28, is pursuing a Ph.D. in clinical psychology focusing on child and adolescent anxiety treatment at Temple University. She graduated magna cum laude from Dartmouth.
She is a daughter of Gabrielle London Palitz and Michael C. Palitz of Manhattan. The bride’s father is the managing director of Preston Partners, a venture capital group in Manhattan. He has also been a producer of several Broadway shows including “Who’s Afraid of Wolf?” and “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike.’’ He is the treasurer of the board of the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria, Queens. Her mother is a Broadway producer of 17 shows, and was a lead producer of “Bandstand” and a producer of “All the Way” and now of “The Great Society,’’ which is in previews. Until 2013 she was an independent architect focusing on apartment renovations in Manhattan. She is a trustee of Second Stage Theater in Manhattan.
Dr. Buinewicz, 30, is a second-year resident in psychiatry at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. He graduated from Washington and Lee University, received a post-baccaulaureate premedical certificate from the University of Vermont, and a medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University.
He is a son of Dr. Anna M. Buinewicz and Dr. Brian R. Buinewicz of Doylestown, Pa. His parents own Buinewicz Plastic Surgery, a private practice with offices in Doylestown and Flemington, N.J. The groom’s mother, an internist, is a cosmetic physician on the staff of Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, Pa., where his father, a plastic surgeon, is the chief of plastic and reconstructive surgery.
The couple were introduced in 2016 through the Tinder dating app, and had their first date a couple of weeks later at Jet Wine Bar in Philadelphia.
