Sophia Lynn Williams and Timothy Joseph Rousseau were married Sept. 7. Matthew Jackowitz, a friend of the couple who became a Universal Life minister for this event, officiated at the Otto H. Kahn House in Manhattan.
Mrs. Rousseau, 32, is an assistant district attorney in the human trafficking unit in the office of the Queens district attorney in Kew Gardens. She graduated from Vassar College and received a law degree from Tulane.
She is a daughter of Ruth Williams of Daphne, Ala., and the late Roy C. Williams. The bride’s father was a factory laborer in Daphne at Bucyrus, a manufacturer of mining equipment. Her mother is a receptionist at the La Quinta Inn in Daphne.
Mr. Rousseau, 35, is an associate, specializing in patent litigation, in the Manhattan office of Brown Rudnick, a law firm. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and received a law degree from Franklin Pierce Law Center.
He is the son of Ann Marie Rousseau and William J. Rousseau of Worcester, Mass. The groom’s mother is the manager of the care-coordination department at the UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. His father is a sales manager for national accounts at PepsiCo, and works in Worcester.
The couple met in 2016 on the dating app Bumble.
