There’s a South Korean tradition of giving special cuts of meat that have been elaborately wrapped in silk for special occasions. Now, a classic Korean barbecue restaurant on West 32nd Street has started selling these gift packages, all with the restaurant’s prime short ribs three ways: marinated, bone-in and boneless. Though short ribs are usually meant for braising, the marinated ones have been scored for tenderness. The boneless and bone-in are thin enough to be succulent after a quick sear. Cooking suggestions are included. A small package with six portions is $250; a package for 12 people is $350; and the large (serving 24, with eight pounds of meat) is $450. All are available for pickup at the restaurant; delivery will be available next month.
