Shirley Lupton Berry and Zachary Joseph Masminster were married Feb. 22 at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge, an events space in Brooklyn. Christopher Burney, a Universal Life minister and friend of the couple, officiated.
The bride, 31, is a software engineer for Xandr, the advertising and analytics division of AT&T, in Manhattan. She graduated from Yale.
She is the daughter of Mary Tavener Holmes of Manhattan and the late Peter C. Berry, who also lived in Manhattan. The bride’s mother, who goes by Tav, is a New York-based independent art historian specializing in 17th- and 18th-century European art. Her father was a lawyer in private practice in Manhattan, where he specialized in tax and corporate trust law.
The groom, also 31, is the head bartender at Porchlight, a bar in Manhattan. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati.
He is the son of Victoria M. Masminster and Joseph E. Masminster of Cincinnati. The groom’s mother is a divisional vice president in the reinsurance department for the Great American Insurance Company in Cincinnati. His father is a deputy sheriff for Hamilton County, Ohio.
The couple met in October 2011 at a bar in Manhattan.
