Fashion week got an early start, or at least the partying did. On Wednesday, the Couture Council of the Museum at FIT honored Maria Grazia Chiuri, the creative director of Dior, at its annual luncheon. Designers, fashion editors, buyers and other aesthetes attended the gathering at Lincoln Center, many in their best Dior.
The night before, the Jeffries, a fashion talent agency, celebrated its fifth year with a dinner and party at the American Bar. Julia Fox, Evan Mock and Kendall Werts hosted the raucous affair, which started at 7 p.m. and moved to Socialista at midnight.
And capping off another Hamptons season, the Southampton Arts Center held its Summerfest benefit on Sept. 1. Cocktails and dinner were followed by a younger after-party where Kelis performed.
‘I was at a table of Texans! Plus Maria Grazia loves the Wild West.’ — Cameron Silver, on his cowboy outfit at the FIT luncheon.
‘This is something very special — to understand that fashion is part of culture, part of history, and that by studying it, we understand ourselves and our society,’ — Maria Grazia Chiuri at the FIT luncheon.
