Sara Kathleen Wahlberg and the Rev. Michael Benjamin Evington Kurth were married Oct. 26 at Christ’s Church in Rye, N.Y. The Rev. Andrew A. Kryzak, an Episcopal priest, performed the ceremony.
Mrs. Kurth, 32, is an assistant director for brand, marketing and communications at Ernst & Young, the New York professional services firm. She graduated from the University of Delaware.
She is the daughter of Lynn A. McLean of Rehoboth Beach, Del., and Mark H. Wahlberg of Wilmington, Del. The bride’s father retired as a systems analyst in the Wilmington office of Accenture, the consultancy. Her mother retired as a medical coder in Rehoboth Beach for the Bayhealth Medical Group, a network of physicians.
Father Kurth, also 32, is an Episcopal priest and the curate of the church where the wedding took place. He graduated from Indiana University and received a master’s degree in divinity from Yale, as well as a diploma from the Berkeley Divinity School, in Anglican studies, and a certificate from the Yale Institute of Sacred Music.
He is a son of Carla L. Kurth and Christopher H. Kurth of Kirkwood, Mo. The groom’s mother retired as a physical therapist in the Pattonville School District in St. Ann, Mo. His father retired as a school psychologist for the Special School District of St. Louis County, which serves students with disabilities and has its headquarters in Town and Country, Mo.
The couple met in New York in 2011 at the birthday party of a mutual friend.
