Welcome to Same Same But Different. As Gen Z and millennial fashion commerce editors, respectively, we know a thing or two about shopping—for all ages, and especially our demographics. As we find the best products for you, we can’t help but do a little shopping for ourselves and build our personal (age-appropriate) wish lists. And now, we’re sharing them with you. Ahead, check out what’s in our hearts and in our carts lately.
Dale Chong: Feeling refreshed after that holiday break? I know I am. And with a new year upon us, I’m feeling pretty pumped for what’s to come in 2025. First up: ski trips. While I know not everyone is a skier or a snowboarder, there’s nothing quite like sipping on a hot chocolate (or better yet, a hot toddy) up in the mountains, right?
We’re in peak season, after all.
Meg Donohue: Admittedly I’m not a skier, but I am here for the vibes (as always). My packing list would undoubtedly include these Gucci goggles, which are honestly iconic, and my red SuperPuff. I wore it last year for a snowmobiling excursion in Vail, and it was perfect.
DC: I certainly have some thoughts. Over the years, I’ve come to embrace practical pieces like Arc’teryx’s bib and Burton’s snowboard. Of course, I am a fashion girl to my core, and this year I’ll be adding a Goldbergh jacket (the brand was seen in the latest season of Emily in Paris—can you believe?!) and Moon boots for when I make it to the bottom of the mountain. But you have to have some handy staples in the mix, don’t you?
MD: Yeah, my world was rocked when I found this base layer. It has a hood that goes all the way around (like a ski mask) to keep your face warm. But the kicker is that it has a hole in the back for a ponytail. Innovation!
DC: That is impressive. And honestly, something I would have never thought about.
MD: Let’s move on to the good stuff: après-ski. Cozy fireplaces, belly-warming drinks, and fondue? That has my name written all over it. I’m ready to hunker down with a deck of cards and hit the spiked cider. Be honest, do you prefer the snow part or the après part? There’s no wrong answer.
DC: I have to admit it: I love spending an hour or two in the hot tub after a day on the slopes.
MD: How could I forget the HOT TUBS?
DC: But when I’m not doing that, you’ll probably find me cozying up in really good knitwear. I have fallen in love with this Aisling Camps bolero, which feels like an undeniably sophisticated take on the après lifestyle. I’ll pair that with these adorable little shorts that add a playful touch to the ensemble—which will be finished up with these incredible Ugg boots. When I need to leave the resort, I’ll be throwing on this fluffy Moose Knuckles layer and a scarf (and probably some pants, while I’m at it). As long as I’m in cozy, warm knits, I’m happy.
MD: That is true; you are such a knit chick. I’m opting for a fleece because I want all the warmth I can get. If there’s one thing I must have, it’s my favorite pair of socks. I know it sounds underwhelming, but they’re so thick and divine. Like a hug for my feet! Also, I can’t get over these Parajumpers mittens. I don’t care if mittens are less practical than gloves; look at how cute they are. I’ll be able to hold a mug and dip a Bavarian pretzel into beer cheese, so I don’t need much else.
