Sarah Daughtry Symons and Nikolas David Alexoff were married Sept. 7 in Winston-Salem, N.C. The Rev. Dr. Michael B. Brown, a United Methodist minister, officiated at Reynolda Gardens, an estate of R. J. Reynolds that is now part of Wake Forest University.
Ms. Symons, 31, is known as Sally. She was until Aug. 30 a creative producer at Squarespace, a Manhattan company that provides software to build websites. Later this month, she is to become a creative production manager in the Manhattan office of Outdoor Voices, a maker of athletic wear. She graduated with distinction from the University of North Carolina.
She is a daughter of Rebecca Trulove Symons and Don P. Symons of Winston-Salem. The bride’s father is the director for development and finance at Crosby Scholars, an organization in Winston-Salem that provides middle and high-school students with college preparation resources and scholarships. Her mother was a stay-at-home parent.
Mr. Alexoff, also 31, is a product manager in Brooklyn in the Collins Aerospace division of United Technologies, the conglomerate. He graduated cum laude from George Washington University and received an M.B.A from N.Y.U.
He is the son of Margaret Desmond Rowan of Emeryville, Calif., and David L. Alexoff of Westhampton, N.Y. The groom’s mother is the senior manager for financial accounting and compliance at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in Berkeley, Calif. His father is the chief executive of Five Eleven Pharma, a Philadelphia pharmaceutical start-up company.
The couple met in 2013, when both were in their first day of work at an advertising agency in Brooklyn.
