Rebecca Jonas Tanenbaum and William Henry Lacey IV were married Oct. 5 at the Gibbes Museum of Art in Charleston, S.C. Judge Loretta A. Preska of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York officiated.
Mrs. Lacey, 37, is the founder and owner of Mise En Place Public Relations, a communications firm in Charleston that works with food and beverage clients. She graduated from Bowdoin College in Maine.
She is a daughter of Gretchen J. Tanenbaum and Gerald S. Tanenbaum of Charleston. The bride’s father is a retired partner in Cahill Gordon & Reindel, a law firm in New York.
Mr. Lacey, 34, is a barbecue pitmaster and the founder of Driftwood Pantry, a specialty food and catering company in Charleston. He graduated from the University of South Carolina, and is a direct paternal descendant of William Moultrie, who served two terms as governor of South Carolina, and who was a plantation owner and Revolutionary War general.
He is the son of Ruth M. Lacy and Mr. Lacey III of McClellanville, S.C. The groom’s mother is the owner of R. Lacey Design, a landscape architecture firm there. His father is a retired director of international trade for the South Carolina Department of Commerce in Columbia, S.C.
The couple met in 2018 through the dating app Bumble.
