Rebecca Hope Fischer and Aaron Dov Kula were married July 20 at Knoll Farms in Fayston, Vt. Rabbi Irwin Kula, a brother of the groom, officiated.
The bride, 62, is a partner in the Hollywood, Fla., law firm Fischer & Feldman, where she practices collaborative family law, family mediation, estate planning, probate and guardianship. She is the national chairwoman of Jewish National Fund’s Arava Task Force, which provides support to those living in the Arava desert of Israel. She is on the board of Kesher, a Jewish day school for children with special needs in North Miami Beach, Fla. She graduated with distinction from the University of Redlands in Redlands, Calif., and received a law degree from Loyola in Los Angeles.
She is a daughter of the late Meryl J. Fischer and the late Stanley L. Fischer, who lived in Bensalem, Pa.
The groom, 60, is a conductor, composer, educator and accordionist. He is the artistic director, based in Boca Raton, Fla., of Klezmer Company Jazz Orchestra, South Florida’s Kultur Festival, a Jewish music and cultural arts event, and Broadway in Concert, which presents concert versions of Broadway musicals. In May he performed Yiddish Tango featuring Yiddish songs he arranged at Tes Fest in Bucharest, Romania. He has worked with many musicians including Nestor Torres, a Latin jazz flutist, and has been a guest conductor with Boston Ballet and Santa Fe Symphony and Chorus. In 2018 he worked on a Fulbright Specialist Fellowship in Israel, which included teaching at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in music theory and in Judaic studies, and received a Master of Music degree focusing on music theory and conducting with distinction in performance from New England Conservatory of Music.
He is a son of the late Charlotte Kula and the late Cantor Morton Kula, who lived in Boca Raton.
The bride’s previous two marriages ended in divorce, as did the groom’s previous marriage.
At the insistence of friends, Ms. Fischer and Mr. Kula reluctantly went on the dating app Match.com in 2016, and his was the first profile she read. A couple of days later they went on a date, and from then on, unless one of them was out of town, have spent every Sabbath dinner together.
