Dr. Rachel Mendelssohn Brodlie and Griffin Jerry Corse were married Dec. 5 at their dairy goat farm in Cambridge, Vt. Patrick J. Mayo, a friend of the groom’s family who is a Universal Life minister, officiated.
The bride, 45, will continue to use her name professionally. She is an associate veterinarian at the Milton Veterinary Hospital in Milton, Vt. She graduated from Brown and received a veterinary medicine degree from Tufts.
She is a daughter of Lisa Evans Brodlie and Jerome F. Brodlie of Weston, Conn. The bride’s mother, who is retired, was a pediatric oncology nurse at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. The bride’s father is both a clinical pediatric psychologist in private practice and the chief of psychology at Greenwich Hospital, both in Greenwich, Conn. He retired as a professor of clinical psychology at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven.
The groom, 31, is the vice president of both Jack F. Corse Fuels, a provider of home-heating oil and other fuels in Jeffersonville, Vt., that is owned by his family, and Corse Family Maples, an organic farm in Jeffersonville, Vt., also owned by his family. He graduated from Keene State College in Keene, N.H.
He is the son of Carolyn Bryden Corse and Jack F. Corse of Cambridge. The groom’s mother retired as an insurance underwriter at Smith Bell & Thompson, an insurance agency in Burlington, Vt. His father is the chief executive of the two family businesses.
The couple first met in 2013, when Dr. Brodlie hired Jack F. Corse Fuels to help build a half-mile-long driveway to her farm, as the company does construction site work in the summer months, when it is not delivering fuel. The two bumped into each other in town a few times, and then in 2017, sparks flew between them when Mr. Corse’s father invited Dr. Brodlie to the family’s annual Fourth of July party. A first date soon followed.
