A pop-up of Poilâne, the Parisian bakery, will occupy the front of Lafayette restaurant in NoHo from Tuesday through Nov. 3. Sourdough loaves, walnut financiers, carrot and curry cake, cardamom-ginger-swirled brioche feuilletée and more will be sold, some baked on the spot, some shipped from Paris. The occasion is the publication of a cookbook for an American audience. Apollonia Poilâne, the author of “Poilâne: The Secrets of the World-Famous Bread Bakery” (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, $35), will be on hand from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, publication day, to sign books. Ms. Poilâne took over the bakery with her sister, Athena, after the death of their father, Lionel Poilâne, and is now its owner and chief executive.
Poilâne pop-up, Oct. 29 to Nov. 3, Lafayette, 380 Lafayette Street (Great Jones Street), 212-533-3000, lafayettenyc.com.
