Perri Lauren Birnbach and Nicholas Avery Newburger were married March 14 at the 1 Hotel South Beach in Miami Beach. Rabbi Steven Moskowitz officiated.
Mrs. Newburger, 30, is an assistant director in the office of career services at Cardozo Law School in New York, from which she received a law degree. Until last year she was an entertainment lawyer at the New York law firm Grubman Shire Meiselas & Sacks. She graduated from the University of Michigan.
She is the daughter of Dr. Randy Teitzman Birnbach and Dr. Steven J. Birnbach of Boca Raton, Fla. The bride’s father is a gynecologist and obstetrician in Boca Raton; her mother is the office manager. Until 1986, her mother was a dentist in Flemington, N.J.
Mr. Newburger, 29, is a principal in the real estate group of MSD Partners, an investment firm in New York. He graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania.
He is a son of Andrea Newburger of Upper Brookville, N.Y., and the late Barry P. Newburger. The groom’s mother is the managing partner in Bang Partners, an investment partnership based in Upper Brookville. His father was the founder of Avery Capital Management, a hedge fund in New York.
The couple met during a flight from New York to Los Angeles. Both were traveling to Coachella, she to a bachelorette party and he to the music festival.
