The Asian emporium Pearl River Mart spun off a branch of its Canal Street flagship in the Chelsea Market three years ago. Now it is adding a food market on the lower level of the market, with stalls, including Kimbap Lab, with Korean maki; Tea and Milk for bubble teas; and Mao’s Bao, with soup dumplings, bao buns and even pizza bao. There are counters crammed with products, both imported from abroad and domestic, as well as made in local restaurants, including Nom Wah Tea Parlor, MaLa Project and Philippine Bread House. Social distancing is observed, and it’s open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. by appointment only.
Pearl River Mart Foods, opens Friday at Chelsea Market, 75 Ninth Avenue (15th Street), pearlriver.com.
