Olivia Whittaker Whalen and Brian Thomas Wynne were married July 13 in Newton, Mass. The Rev. Robert F. Hawkins, a Roman Catholic priest, performed the ceremony at the Chapel of the Most Blessed Trinity at Boston College.
The couple met at Boston College, from which each graduated.
Ms. Whalen, 29, is the assistant director for admissions and recruitment at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard. She received a master’s degree in liberal arts from Harvard in May.
She is a daughter of Barbara E. Burke and David G. Whalen of Barrington, R.I. The bride’s father retired as the president and chief executive of the A. T. Cross Company, the pen maker, which was then in Lincoln, R.I. Her mother was a stay-at-home parent.
Mr. Wynne, 29, is a political adviser to Gov. Charlie Baker of Massachusetts, a Republican; the groom works in Boston and managed the governor’s re-election campaign in 2018.
He is a son of Louise Daniel Wynne and Michael C. Wynne of Randolph, N.J. The groom’s mother, a certified public accountant, retired as a business services director in Basking Ridge, N.J. at Avaya, a technology company that specializes in business communications. His father is the executive director of the sewerage authority of Hanover Township, N.J.
