Olivia Maeve Smith and Michael Peter James Yves Murray were married Aug. 16 at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, Calif. Robert K. Smith, the bride’s father, who became a Universal Life minister for the occasion, officiated.
Ms. Smith, 30, works in Los Angeles as a journalist for ABC News and “Good Morning America,” and as an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. She graduated from N.Y.U., and received a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia.
The bride is the daughter of Jo Ann Smith and Robert K. Smith of La Cañada Flintridge, Calif.
Mr. Murray, 35, works in Los Angeles as a manager for ABC NewsOne covering the Western United States and Asia. He graduated from Boston College.
The groom is the son of Christine Y. Murray of Manhattan Beach, Calif., and John D. Murray of Pompano Beach, Fla.
The couple met in July 2016 at the ABC News Los Angeles bureau. They each started their careers with ABC News at the network’s bureau in New York, but they did not cross paths until Ms. Smith relocated to the Los Angeles office. They went on their first date in March 2017.
