Nicole Marie Rivera and Sumit Khatod were married March 23 at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Miami. Naoko Miyamoto, a friend of the couple who became a Universal Life minister for the occasion, officiated. On March 22, the couple took part in a traditional Hindu ceremony led by Pandit Vinod R. Mehta at Maps Backlot Wynwood, an events space, also in Miami.
The bride and groom, both 32, met at the University of Pennsylvania, from which each received an M.B.A.
The bride is a director of global marketing at Clinique in New York. She graduated cum laude from Harvard.
She is the daughter of Terri L. Grosselin and Carlos E. Rivera of Miami. The bride’s father, who is retired, was a director of Latin America Tax and Finance at Procter & Gamble in Panama. Her mother is an executive director of Ernst & Young, the accounting firm, specializing in Mexican and Latin American tax advisory.
The groom is a principal of Veritas Capital, a private equity firm in New York. He graduated from M.I.T.
He is a son of Shubhra Khatod and Anil Khatod of Atlanta. The groom’s mother is a volunteer with Meals on Wheels in the Atlanta area. His father is a managing director of Argonaut Private Equity in Atlanta. He was formerly the chief executive of the AirDefense and the group president of Nortel Networks, also in Atlanta.
