Nazeela Saira Nasseri and Danyal Farooqi were married July 5 in a traditional Muslim ceremony at Château-Vaudreuil in Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec. Imam Imran Shariff officiated.
The bride, 28, is a vice president and associate private banker for Citi Private Bank in New York. She graduated from Mount Holyoke College and received a master’s degree in management studies from Duke.
She is a daughter of Seema Haider and Dr. Afshin Nasseri of Sharon, Mass. The bride’s father, who is retired, was an internist in private practice in Warwick, R.I. Her mother is the senior director and cluster lead for medical analytics and insights at Health Economics and Outcomes Research at Pfizer UpJohn in Groton, Conn., and New York.
The groom, 29, is a vice president for private capital advisory at Stanwich Advisors, an investment bank in Stamford, Conn. He graduated from N.Y.U.
He is the son of Dr. Afshan Farooqi of Karachi, Pakistan and the late Dr. Asif Farooqi. The groom’s father was a family medicine physician in Karachi and in the Washington Metro Area, as well as a medical professor in Karachi at both Ziauddin University and Aga Khan University. His mother was also a physician before becoming a stay-at-home parent.
The couple met in April 2015 while mini-golfing at the Hudson Hotel in New York.
