On this week’s Modern Love podcast, the actress Mira Sorvino reads “A Forgotten Prayer, Answered,” an essay about a couple’s fateful trip to Chimi Lhakhang, a fertility temple in Bhutan.
Charlotte Bacon, the author of the 2011 essay, is the associate director of humanities grant support at Dartmouth College. She previously taught English and creative writing at the University of New Hampshire. She has published three novels.
Ms. Sorvino won an Academy Award in 1995 for her performance in “Mighty Aphrodite.” She appears in the new season of the Sony Crackle series “StartUp.” Stay tuned after the reading to hear from her, Ms. Bacon and the Modern Love editor Daniel Jones.
