Michal Lauren Rosenoer and Patrick Byrne Massaro were married outdoors on Oct. 5 at Turner Farm in Buena Vista, Colo. Nicholas Massaro, an uncle of the groom and a retired chief justice for Mesa County, Colo., officiated.
The bride, 31, is the executive director for Emerge Colorado, a Denver-based organization that recruits and trains Democratic women in the state to run for office. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of California, Berkeley.
She is a daughter of Sheryl D. Rosenoer of Lincoln, Neb., and Jonathan M. C. Rosenoer of Westport, Conn. The bride’s father is a blockchain adviser with Accenture, a multinational professional services company that provides services in strategy, consulting, digital, technology and operations. Her mother is a mental health specialist for the Lincoln Regional Center, a psychiatric hospital in Lincoln.
The groom, 32, is the political and organizing director for Conservation Colorado, a Denver-based statewide nonprofit organization that works for environmental protection and policy. He also serves on the board for Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains Action Fund. He graduated from the University of Colorado.
He is the son of Anne M. Byrne of Wheat Ridge, Colo., and Tony S. Massaro of Denver. The groom’s mother, who works in Denver, is a social policy researcher for the Center for Policy Research and founder of the Blue Bench, a rape-crisis center in the Denver area. His father is a Denver-based political consultant. He is also a member of the national board of NARAL Pro-Choice America, based in Washington.
The couple met in August 2014 on the bride’s first day at Conservation Colorado, where the groom was already working.
