Meredith Brooke Gordon and Sean Justin Fennel were married May 4 at L’Escale, a restaurant in the Delamar Greenwich Harbor hotel in Greenwich, Conn. Frederick L. Baker III, a justice of the peace in Greenwich, officiated.
The bride, 40, is a senior corporate counsel in New York at Salesforce, a cloud-computing technology company. She is also a director of the New York chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel. She graduated magna cum laude from Yale, and received a law degree from Harvard.
She is the daughter of Joan S. Gordon of New York and the late Harold L. Gordon. The bride’s father was the founder and chief executive of Gordon International, a furniture company in New York, and was also the vice president and treasurer of the New York Design Center. The bride’s mother retired as the chief of the administrative law unit of the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs, where she was also a senior lawyer.
Mr. Fennel, 41, works in New York as the director for strategic analysis and solution pricing at Conduent, a company that provides business-process services to other companies. He graduated from the College of Staten Island and received an M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix.
He is a son of the late Diane Alextuinas Fennel and the late Franklin O. Fennel, who lived together in Oakwood Heights, Staten Island. The groom’s mother was a community liaison in the office of the Staten Island borough president, and was also an adviser to the Staten Island Economic Development Corporation. The groom’s father was a corporate mechanic for Bristol-Myers Squibb at the pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Edison, N.J.
The couple met in 2017 at a reception in New York that was hosted by the groom’s company in conjunction with Legaltech conference in New York. Both are tall — she is 5-foot-11, he is 6-foot-4 — and they spotted each other over the heads of the rest of the crowd.
