Meredith Isabel English and Paul Christopher Holder were married June 15 at Mallard Island Yacht Club, an events space in Manahawkin, N.J. The Rev. Scott Brown, a minister of the Reformed Church in America, officiated.
The bride, 29, works in New York and Niwot, Colo., as the senior director of strategic programs and initiatives at Crocs, a footwear company. She graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown and received an M.B.A. with high distinction from Harvard as a George F. Baker scholar.
She is a daughter of Barbara A. English and James P. English of West Islip, N.Y. The bride’s father is a senior vice president and senior plan adviser at the Sentinel Benefits and Financial Group, an employee benefits and investment advisory firm in New York. Her mother is an executive director of fixed income at UBS Global Asset Management in New York.
The bride is a maternal granddaughter of former Justice James A. Gowan of State Supreme Court in Riverhead, N.Y.
The groom, also 29, is the director of customer success at Troops AI, a New York-based start-up company that helps sales teams communicate with a customer relationship management tool plugged directly into Slack, a workplace messaging tool. He graduated from Boston College.
He is a son of Linda J. Holder and James J. Holder of Freehold, N.J. His parents are the owners of First Line Associates, a sales agency for the electric utility industry in the Northeast, based in Freehold, N.J.
The couple met in 2012 on their first day as new associates at L.E.K. Consulting, a management consulting firm in Boston. They later realized that they lived in the same apartment building.
