Melody Sepideh Sachmechi and Maxim Mordecai Nowak were married March 14 at the home of the bride’s parents in Great Neck, N.Y. Rabbi Serge A. Lippe officiated.
Mrs. Nowak, 32, works in Manhattan as the division head of handbags at the U.S. Polo Assn., a division of Jordache Enterprises. She graduated from Baruch College.
She is a daughter of Evlin Sachmechi and Faramarz Sachmechi of Great Neck. The bride’s father is the owner of American Furniture & Mirror, a retailer in Brooklyn. The bride’s mother is a stay-at-home parent.
The groom, also 32, is a senior litigation associate at the Manhattan law firm Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel. He graduated from the University of Michigan and received a law degree from Fordham.
He is a son of Wendy A. Lebowitz and Joel T. Nowak of Brooklyn. The groom’s mother is the senior psychologist at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn. The groom’s parents are the founders, and on the board of Cancer ABC’s in Brooklyn, a nonprofit support and education network for people with cancer and for their caregivers. His father is the chief executive of the group, and is a member of the programmatic panel of the Prostate Cancer Research Program in Washington.
The couple spotted each other on the JSwipe dating app in March 2017 after two mutual friends had urged them to meet.
