Melanie Elise DeFiore and Jeremy Cramer Gibbs were married Oct. 5 at Second, an events space in Manhattan. Cantor Nancy Bach officiated.
Ms. DeFiore, 29, is an associate of the Bortstein Legal Group, a law firm in Manhattan. She graduated from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. and received a law degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in Manhattan.
She is a daughter of Rhonda DeFiore and Paul P. DeFiore of Scarsdale, N.Y. Her father is general counsel of UTOG Corporate Transportation, a car service in Long Island City, Queens. Her mother is a certified music therapist in Manhattan.
Mr. Cramer Gibbs, 30, is an associate in the strategic advisory group at PJT Partners, in Manhattan. He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis and received an M.B.A. from Columbia.
He is a son of Cathy A. Cramer and Kenneth D. Gibbs of Manhattan. His mother is the president and chief executive of Legal Information for Families Today, a nonprofit organization serving litigants in family court in Brooklyn. His father is the president and the chief executive of Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn.
The couple met in 2013 through a mutual friend at a bar in Manhattan. Ms. DeFiore told their mutual friend she thought Mr. Gibbs was cute, and after an introduction, he asked her out on a date.
