Dr. Megan Dale Henley and Jason Francis Hicks were married Sept. 21 at First Christian Church in Greensboro, N.C. The Rev. Andrew Shelley, a Methodist minister, performed the ceremony.
Dr. Hicks, 31, is a physician and fellow of critical care anesthesiology at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. She graduated summa cum laude from North Carolina State University and received a medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
She is the daughter of Jody H. Henley and Daniel G. Henley of Greensboro. The bride’s parents, both of whom worked in Greensboro, are retired. The bride’s father was the head athletic trainer at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and an athletic trainer at Southeastern Orthopaedic Specialists. Her mother was a music educator at Guilford County Schools in Greensboro, and a music minister at First Christian Church.
Mr. Hicks, 34, is an associate at Moore, Rader, Fitzpatrick and York, a law firm in Cookeville, Tenn. He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and received a law degree from Faulkner University in Montgomery, Ala. He also serves as vice president of the Tennessee Bar Association-Young Lawyers Division in Nashville.
He is the son of Frances B. Hicks and Daniel C. Hicks of Cookeville. The groom’s mother, who worked in Cookeville, retired as an administrative assistant for Putnam County Schools. His father, who works in Smithville, Tenn., is the vice president and chief financial officer of Middle Tennessee Natural Gas Utility District.
The couple met in September 2018 through the dating site Bumble.
