Megan Anne Govin and Gregory Moore Johnson were married Aug. 31 at the Manhattan Penthouse, an events space in New York. Trevor Moore, a friend of the couple who became a Universal Life minister for the event, officiated.
The bride, 41, is the manager of the archives, library and research collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma and received a master’s degree in art history from Pratt Institute.
She is the daughter of Mary Elizabeth Govin and Gustavo Lawrence Govin III, both of Oklahoma City. The bride’s father retired as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in private practice in Shawnee, Okla. Her mother, who is also retired, was a licensed professional counselor for Calm Waters Center for Children and Families, a grief-counseling nonprofit organization in Oklahoma City.
The groom, 38, is a writer and comedian in Brooklyn. He recorded a standup comedy album, “Greg Johnson 1,” which is on iTunes. He also was a host of Brooklyn’s BRIC TV’s series “BK Live” and he created and produced BRIC TV’s standup comedy show “Stand Up Brooklyn with Greg Johnson.” He graduated from Boston College.
He is a son of Andrea Moore Johnson and John B. Johnson III of Wellesley, Mass. The groom’s mother is a independent social worker in Wellesley. His father retired as a lawyer in Boston.
The couple were introduced through a mutual friend at a New York restaurant in 2011.
