Megan Rice Bradley and Matthew Sidney Shapanka were married Oct. 13 at the Cocoanut Grove, an events space in Santa Cruz, Calif. Neil M. DiBiase-Smith, designated a marriage deputy for the day by the clerk of Santa Cruz County, officiated.
The bride, 28, is a community engagement specialist at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Bethesda, Md. She graduated from the University of California at Davis.
She is the daughter of Nancy R. Bradley of Santa Cruz.
The groom, 31, is a lawyer in Washington at the law firm Covington & Burling. He graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University. He received a law degree from Harvard Law School.
He is a son of Andrew M. Shapanka of Durham, N.C., and the late Louise T. Shapanka.
The couple met in 2012. They had their first date at Drink, a cocktail bar in Boston.
