Marissa Gabrielle Krupen and Daniel Shlomi are to be married June 23 at the Langham Huntington hotel in Pasadena. Rabbi Stephen W. Goodman is to officiate.
Ms. Krupen, 31, will take her husband’s name. She is an associate producer in marketing services at Technicolor, a provider of production, postproduction, and distribution services for the entertainment industry in Los Angeles. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in fine arts and another in computer science. She is the daughter of Andrea Farkas Krupen and Dr. Jeffrey M. Krupen of Garden City, N.Y. The bride’s father is an internist in private practice in Bayside, Queens, of which her mother is the office manager.
The bride is a maternal granddaughter of Robin L. Farkas, who was chairman of Alexander’s Department Stores, and a great-granddaughter of George Farkas, who opened the first store in the Bronx in 1928.
The groom, 33, is a real estate lawyer in the Los Angeles office of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California, from which he also received a law degree. Mr. Shlomi is a son of Hanna Shlomi and Benjamin Shlomi of Los Angeles. They own a jewelry business in Los Angeles.
The couple were introduced through JSwipe in December 2016, and a couple of days later met for dinner at a restaurant in Los Angeles. After that first date Mr. Shlomi told his roommate he had met his wife.
In April 2018, he proposed in Paris, and a few days later they went to Israel to celebrate with his family.
