Maria Elena Malvar and Benjamin Kramer-Eisenbud were married May 11 at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach. Mark Cohen, a supervising judge in the court of claims in Suffolk County, N.Y., officiated.
Ms. Malvar, 31, is the principal court attorney for Judge Gia L. Morris of the Queens Criminal Court. She graduated cum laude from Georgetown and received a law degree from George Washington University.
She is a daughter of Maria Elena Malvar of Miami and the late Francisco J. Malvar Jr. The bride’s mother is a teacher and trainer in Miami for the Miami-Dade County Public Schools, where she does workshops with parents on how to navigate the school system. The bride’s father was an electrical engineer in Miami working as the director of construction for Miami Dade College.
Mr. Kramer-Eisenbud, 34, is an assistant district attorney for Queens County in the Economic and Environmental Crimes Bureau. He graduated from Emory University and received a law degree from Brooklyn Law School.
He is a son of Lynne Adair Kramer and Frederick Eisenbud of Fort Salonga, N.Y. The groom’s mother is an adjunct professor at Touro Law School and the director of the school’s court observation program. The groom’s father is a general counsel in Ronkonkoma, N.Y., to the law firm Campolo, Middleton and McCormick, where he also serves as the chair of the environmental and land use practice group.
The couple met in 2012 in the domestic violence courtroom in Queens Criminal Court, where they were opposing counsel on a case. They started dating in 2013.
