Marguerite Leigh O’Hara and Max Benjamin Friedman were married July 6 at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Pittsburgh. Daniel N. Guisbond, a Universal Life minister and a brother-in-law of the bride, officiated.
Ms. O’Hara, 32, is the global market access manager for neuroscience at Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson in Titusville, N.J. She is now working on a new drug for treatment-resistant depression. She graduated from Syracuse and received a master’s degree in applied developmental psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, as well as a Master of Public Health and an M.B.A., a dual program, from Johns Hopkins.
She is a daughter of Priscilla Collins O’Hara and Dr. Kevin R. O’Hara of Wexford, Pa. The bride’s father is a radiologist at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh. Her mother, a retired registered nurse, was a critical care and public health nurse at Crouse-Irving Memorial Hospital in Syracuse.
Mr. Friedman, 31, is a senior product manager for new and emerging technology at IBM Data and Artificial Intelligence in New York. He graduated from the University of Michigan and received a law degree from the University of Pittsburgh and an M.B.A. from Carnegie Mellon.
He is the son of Karen T. Friedman and Jack M. Friedman of Pittsburgh. The groom’s mother was a stay-at-home parent. His father is a financial adviser at Merrill Lynch in Pittsburgh. He is on the board of the Jewish Association on Aging in Pittsburgh.
The couple met briefly in October 2013 through mutual friends at a bar while watching a Pittsburgh Pirates playoff game. They began dating three years later while both lived in Manhattan.
