Madeleine Page Lobrano and Jared Keith Hedglin were married July 13 at Wainwright House, an events space in Rye, N.Y. Carina R. Petillo, the sister of the groom, officiated, having become a Universal Life minister for the event.
The couple met at Amherst College, from which each graduated, the bride cum laude.

She is a daughter of Helen M. Lobrano and John D. Lobrano of Greenwich, Conn. The bride’s father retired as a partner in Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, the Manhattan law firm, and is a trustee of Landmark College in Putney, Vt. Her mother retired as an event planner at Gregory White PR, which is based in Brooklyn, and is a chairwoman of a family-support and fund-raising council at Landmark College.
Mr. Hedglin, 28, is to begin work this month as an institutional sales and account manager in the Manhattan office at Coinbase, a cryptocurrency exchange. He was until July 3 a senior account manager at AlphaPoint, a financial technology company in Manhattan.

A few weeks before Ms. Lobrano and Mr. Hedglin met at Amherst, they had first spotted each other on Tinder, the dating app. But neither had made an overture. The bride did use the earlier encounter to start a conversation in person, approaching Mr. Hedglin and saying “You’re that guy I saw on Tinder.”
