Macy Lao and Kyle David Hagan were married Oct. 19 at the North Branch Inn in North Branch, N.Y. Mark Hagan, an uncle of the groom who became a Universal Life minister for the event, officiated.
The bride, 34, is the director of digital and social media for TLC, the television network in New York. She graduated magna cum laude from N.Y.U.
She is a daughter of Louisa Lao and Ed Lao of San Jose, Calif. The bride’s father is an electrical engineering manager at Apple in Cupertino, Calif. Her mother is a patent agent at the United States Patent and Trademark Office in San Jose.
The groom, 35, is a senior tunneling engineer in New York for Mott MacDonald, an engineering firm. He graduated cum laude from Vanderbilt University and holds a master’s degree in geotechnical engineering from Cornell.
He is the son of Daphne R. Hagan and Kevin F. Hagan of Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y. The groom’s mother retired as a preschool teacher at Cold Spring Harbor Nursery School. His father is a lawyer in private practice in Cold Spring Harbor.
The groom’s first marriage ended in divorce.
The couple met in 2013 though the online service OkCupid.
