Lauren Ann Weisenfluh and Daniel Stuart Obenshain were married Aug. 3. The Rev. Dr. Steven Larsen, a United Methodist minister, officiated at the University of California Botanical Garden at Berkeley.
Ms. Weisenfluh, 29, is a senior data consultant in San Bruno, Calif., at Kaiser Permanente, the health care company. She graduated from the University of California, Davis and received a master’s degree in public health from Columbia.
She is a daughter of Stacia M. Weisenfluh and Craig C. Weisenfluh of Menlo Park, Calif. The bride’s father is a data architect at Shocase, a professional social network for marketers, in San Francisco. Her mother arranges playgroups and activities for small children in Silicon Valley, working from Menlo Park.
Mr. Obenshain, 32, is a technical program manager at Facebook, the social media company in Menlo Park. He graduated from the California Institute of Technology and received a doctoral degree in computer science from Johns Hopkins University.
He is the son of Suzanne S. Obenshain and the Rev. Norman J. Obenshain of Havre de Grace, Md. The groom’s mother is a lecturer in instructional technology at Towson University. His father is the pastor of Havre de Grace United Methodist Church.
The couple met in 2015 when mutual friends, eager to see them together, arranged a night out in Baltimore. They began dating in 2016 after he moved to East Palo Alto, Calif., to begin working at Facebook.
