Lauren Margarie Kuhn and Alexander Kames Bauman were married Aug. 31. Rabbi Linda Portnoy Goldberg officiated at Crabtree’s Kittle House in Chappaqua, N.Y.
Mrs. Bauman, 29, is an assistant director for literary publicity at Fortier Public Relations in New York; she primarily represents writers of business books. She graduated summa cum laude from N.Y.U.
She is a daughter of Monica L. Kuhn and James J. Kuhn, both of Naperville, Ill. The bride’s father is the executive vice president for taxation and a partner in Kuhn & Company, CPAs, in Naperville. Her mother is an accounting clerk at International Transload Logistics in Aurora, Ill.
Mr. Bauman, 33, is a senior vice president for literary affairs, in New York, at 20th Century Fox; he finds literary properties for the studio to acquire for film. He graduated cum laude from Columbia.
He is the son of Linda D. Kames and Edward V. Bauman of Framingham, Mass. The groom’s parents are both clinical psychologists at Comprehensive Psychiatric Associates in Wellesley, Mass.
The couple met in 2016 through the dating app Coffee Meets Bagel, and had their first date in New York. They later realized they had encountered each other several years earlier at BookExpo America, a publishing event, in New York, as she was handing out the copies of the book that he was standing in line to have autographed.
