Lauren Michele Chapman and Edgar Justin Tozer were married Sept. 9 on Catseye Beach on Hamilton Island, Australia. Jan Harvey, who was granted temporary registration by the Attorney-General’s Department of Australia, officiated.
Ms. Chapman, 33, who will be taking her husband’s name, graduated and received an M.B.A. from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Tex.
She is the daughter of Terry L. Litman of Burkeville, Tex., and A. Chris Chapman of Jefferson County, Tex. The bride’s father retired as a petroleum plant operator at Total Petrochemical USA in Port Arthur, Tex. Her mother retired as a claims agent at Farmer’s Insurance in Beaumont, Tex.
Mr. Tozer, 37, who goes by Justin, is a call center operator for the Department of Human Services in Brisbane, Australia. He graduated from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Melbourne.
He is the son of Myrna R. Hepburn of Mount Macedon, Victoria, and Edgar Maxwell Tozer of Frankston, Victoria. The groom’s mother is a chemical engineering safety consultant for businesses in Mount Macedon, Australia. His father retired as a self-employed landscape gardener in Melbourne.
The couple met in 2015 in the Yunnan Province of China while on a 16-day hiking tour.
